November Happenings!

Time to start thinking about family get-togethers, holiday traditions, plans for the new year, and all that fun stuff!

This usually also means lots of food: shared meals, lovingly-made by family, friends, and colleagues.  To make things a little easier, but to keep them just as homemade and delicious, you can pre-order a large gluten-free pie fresh-baked with local ingredients from these fine locally-owned shops:

In PA: Lemon Street Market goldilocks goodies glutenfree pie(sampling TBD)

In MD: through Friends & Farms (sampling date TBD)

In DC: at Pleasant Pops Farmhouse Cafe (sampling on Sunday, November 17)  Simply order on-line!

In VA:
Salud, the Healthy Pantry (sampling on Friday, November 22 in Great Falls, VA)

Nourish Market (Falls Church) deadline is Friday, November 22.  Pick-up on Wednesday, November 27.

Please visit the store to place your order and confirm deadlines/pick-up times.

Available flavors:  Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, or Shoofly Pie.

All pies are made with certified gluten-free flours, butter, free-range chicken eggs, local Amish-orchard apples, and unsulfured blackstrap molasses from Lancaster County. They are 10″ pies (6-8 slices) and keep about 10 days if refrigerated.  Can also be frozen up to 4 weeks.

You’ll also be able to get gluten-free goodies at lots of area cafes, co-ops, natural food stores and markets listed on the Where to Buy page.
If you want to make your own gluten-free cookies, join me at the Living Social space in downtown DC for a class, recipes, and lots of cookies to take home.  Choose from 9 dates in November and December.
Mark your calendars for the DC Meet Market on Saturday, December 7th and stay tuned for other holiday market announcements!
